WELP...

This past weekend was a doozie for the Meg and Harry fans of the world. And especially here in England. Whatever one thinks of all of this Royalty bloodlines stuff - be it overprivileged or antiquated - one thing was for sure that Saturday: This was one giant LOVE FEST. Two kids in love getting hitched. An American and a Brit (think she'll have immigration issues?). Garden parties followed all day and into the evening and the next day, with champagne, fascinators, Sunday roasts - very quaint and sweet. People forgetting about their lives for a day and celebrating two of 'their own'.

The city raised a giant screen to air the festivities live, on the the seafront. Several thousand people, with drinks and food, kids and pups, were spread out over the plaza and the beach. This was a photographer's heaven. I mixed and mingled, took candids and posed shots. I would say the mood was ecstatic and quite merry. A few tears at the vows, etc, but what do you expect. This was balanced with a healthy dose of that English irony and wit that we can't do without. (People started cracking up several times during the sermon and I was like 'What's going on!?' No one let me in on the joke, sadly.)

Anyway, below are a few shots from that day. Click to view in full frame. I am hoping it shows the mood of the citizens of this fair city, for just a moment.
THE COMPLETE SET OF IMAGES ARE HERE ON MY FLICKR PAGE. I do hope you enjoy!
